Handcrafted Driftwood Picture Framing
I was born in 1961 in Potosi, Missouri where I enjoyed watching my father build and repair things his own way. I also enjoyed watching my mother cook meals, desserts and pies and cakes from scratch. I love my mother's gardening and canning of vegetables. My grandparents owned family farms where I loved riding horses and being in the woods.
In the beginning I enjoyed making signs with routed out letters or hanging a pair of deer antlers on a knotty piece of wood. I have helped my friend restore the interiors on Rolls Royce, Bentley and Silver Clouds in the past.
In 1984 at the age of 23, I moved to Key Largo, Florida. I love the beautiful reefs and wonderful ecosystem. While living in Key Largo, I have worked operating heavy equipment, building homes and plumbing. I enjoy working with boats and have helped refurbish them. I love boating, snorkeling and fishing.
I like traveling and have had the opportunity of visiting other countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rio de Janeiro, Costa Rica and Canada. I enjoy the gorgeous mountains, rivers, creeks, streams, springs, mangroves, ocean, the bay and The Everglades.
I appreciate driftwood and how people from different cultures have used it for centuries for their wood material. Carving of dugout canoes and other items, always seemed to interest me. I like recycling driftwood , buoy balls, trap line, life jackets and love collecting sea beans. I enjoy the unique driftwood logs and boards that make landfall from our Ocean, the Gulf Stream and the North Atlantic Gyre.
